Maldivian culture is diverse, a mixture of Arabian, African, Sri Lankan and Indian. But, Maldives is 100% Islam since it was introduced in the 12th century. In fact, the major events and festivals in Maldives follow the Muslim calendar. Islam is also part of the Maldivian school curriculum.
Family is an important sector of the Maldivian culture. Traditional men provide food for his family while women are responsible in taking care of the children.
